Our Adopt a BeeHive Program started a couple of years ago in response to our customers' children who started to name the hives every time they came out to the farms where the bees live. From then on, they would call us and ask how their hive was doing. One day while doing a tour, a group of honey customers asked us to create a program so people could adopt a hive. Before we knew it, we had to find a scrap piece of paper to write down names of people who wanted to adopt and foster a hive. Some people did it for their childeren and some did it for family and friends.

From then on, our program has become more popular every year. People sign up, watch their hive grow, and sit back and relax as they enjoy some honey and other beautiful products from their hive!

Now, with the onslaught of honeybees facing tough times, it's crucial to connect people with to the importance of the honeybee. Our Adopt a BeeHive Program does just that. It brings people closer to the honeybee and the importance of pollination.

What to Expect

When you sign up for our Adopt a Hive Program, the first thing you will recieve is a packet of pictures that will have some quick stats on each hive. See, we as beekeepers think of our hives as members of our family. Each hive has its own distinct characteristics. You will go through and pick out a hive that you would like to adopt and foster. You will choose a name for your hive and you will recieve a personalized Adoption Certificate. From that point on, this hive is yours to watch and grow. To watch your hive grow, you will need some information, right? We set up a web page for each adopted hive that only you (and anyone else you give the username and password to) can see. Your personalized web page will have information on your hive, stats that you need to know, up to date information on inspections that we do on your hive, and a lot of learning! You will have the opprotunity to write or call us with questions that you might have. But the leanring does not stop there! If you are interested, we will invite you out with us for a hands on inspection of your hive. We will suit you up and we will dive in together for a great day of learning! Maybe we can enjoy lunch at the bee yard too. But dont worry... some people do not want to work the bees with us and we understand that. This program is flexable and we tailor it around YOUR needs.

At the end of the season, you will enjoy 5 pounds of honey from your hive plus a nice handmade beeswax candle. We have some people who eat all of their honey and we have some people who bottle it in small bottles, make a little label and send it to friends and family as gifts.

We take care of your hive....you don't have to. No work by you needs to be done. Sit back, relax, and see how your honeybees are doing. Watch them grow, learn about the importance of honeybees and step into the wonderful but hard world of beekeeper. Experiance the up times from a beekeepers point of view and experiance some of the hardships we go through.
